Well, we are off tonight to go to the Philippines.
This time we will be doing a few things different and more exciting than before. Â We have come prepared with a lot of video, camera and drone equipment to show exactly what we are up to and how we are doing it. Â We are going to be hanging out on the beaches of Boracay, going to the inner villages of Sara, Iloilo as well as other beaches and cool destinations along the way. Â Step 1…..get to the airport and get outta here!
The airport is always a fun and exciting place for us as it represents our new adventure. Â We love the hustle and bustle of getting the luggage down there are getting sorted out with the ticket counter (hopefully a free upgrade too!) and then strolling on to the lounge until we board the plane. Â YVR, our main terminal in Vancouver offers a lot of small shops and restaurants for the international and domestic flights. Â We always burn a little time in the shops and see what’s new, if anything, and then continue our journey down to the waiting area, of course after a pit-stop in the flight lounge to have a bite to eat.
This trip should be a little more interesting.
Going through security checks with all of the gear we have this time. Â For sure, it’s the most “tech” gear we have carried in one trip. Â Let’s hope for the best!
We generally arrive about 3 – 4 hours early for this flight and try to get our bags checked, then head home for a couple hours, to relax and then head back. Â This time I thought because we have a special guest, Aiden, we will stay in the lounge a little longer and make sure we are fulled up and ready to go before the big journey. Â A small snack/late dinner is a little more difficult at 3am as the digestive system by this point wants nothing more than to relax and get ready for the next day ahead. Â Not this time, full blast into meal time and prep for the flight not so long awaiting. Â The Palaza Premium Lounge is a great place for food usually, but at 3am…..not so much on the menu. Â After a soup, salad and a few snacks, we hang out and kill some time before heading to the gate.
The time has come to get moving so off we go in excitement ready to…….sleep. Â Boarding the plane and getting ready to fly is somewhat of a mission trying to get organized to have all of the stuff we want close-by but not having so much that the airline stewardess had an attack and gets you to put half of it back (yes it’s happened before). Â Ok one little piece of entertainment here; every time we go on a plane they do the example of “if the unlikely event”, they put on the mask that supposedly drops down from the ceiling. Â This always makes me not only laugh, but i have to make a joke about the mask itself as it looks like a little pig snout. Â lol, jokes are either crackin now or at least in my mind they are. Â This always makes for a smile on my face to get the trip started.
Manila here we come!
